Dinner Dates: 3 Tips for Blogging Regularly

Blogging has become a staple for my business; I love being able to connect with my brides and readers, and share a piece of my heart! It’s my little online home & I’m so happy I started blogging over a year ago!

But the truth is – blogging regularly is hard work!! When you’re a new business owner, you’re focusing on marketing, client experience, branding, finances…there are so many things!!! We hear a lot about the importance of blogging, so we add it to our to-dos. But then we get tired. And others things become priority. And before you know it, you haven’t blogged in 3 months!!

So HOW can you blog regularly when you have so many other things on your plate?!

1. Brainstorm Ideas (create categories & a series or two!) – I am a big fan of brainstorming!! I can fill notebooks upon notebooks with all the thoughts in my head:) Blogging is the same thing, friends!! Pull out a sheet of paper & start making a list of blog topics & blog series ideas!! Think about what YOU want to read about!! Think about the things YOU love! We write best when we are passionate about it; don’t write just to write – don’t just feel pages to fill them. Write to inspire & connect with your readers!!

2. Add it to your Workflow – If you’re going to do it regularly, you have to MAKE this a priority!! Add it to your workflow. Decide what days you want blog & make them happen!! The point is to blog REGULARLY – I’m not saying you have to blog 5 days per week. But I AM saying that you need to be consist when you do blog!! It’s all about DOING it, friends! It’s not rocket science. Add it to your to-do list. Select the same 3 days, 2 days, whatever you can & make it a priority on your workflow!

3. Set times to Pre-Blog – Pre-blogging is my favorite thing!! In a perfect world, I will set up a time every week to sit down and write my blog posts for that week. I set them up to publish on the given days that week and I’m done!! Usually, Sunday’s are a really great day to pre-blog. When football was in full swing, Matt would watching football all afternoon & I’d spend a few hours getting my posts up for the week. Maybe you don’t have time to block off an afternoon or weeknight, and that’s okay!! Instead, schedule one hour time slots throughout the week. Just like adding it to your workflow, add pre-blogging to your weekly schedule so you ensure that it becomes a priority and gets DONE!
