I don’t know if it was “springing forward” or just “one of those days” but, man, I was all out of whack.
I woke with this overwhelming sense of “I just can’t do it all“. I looked at my ever growing list & thought “ummm no. absolutely not“.
And it was a hard morning. Literally all morning I just looked at my list with this sense of dread. I felt unprepared, overwhelmed and couldn’t fathom checking on thing off the list…
but then I did.
I took one thing, one simple thing and I did it. And then I did another. And another. And by 5:30pm, thanks to diet dr pepper and a bowl of popcorn, I felt pretty happy with my day’s work.
That’s all it takes, friends. You just have to start moving. We sit here and look at our list of dreams and we think “I just can’t do it all” … and while the chances of doing it ALL are slim (because we are human & there are only 24 hours in a day)… the truth is, you are able to do SOMETHING!! It might not be the way you originally planned, it might take longer & take a whole lot more work… but you have to try. You have to start moving.
Don’t let the BIG dreams get you down. Don’t feel inferrer and don’t feel like the to-do list is too long. Break it down. Make it bite-size. And check one thing off at a time. That’s all it takes, friends. One thing here, one thing there and sooner or later you’ll close your laptop with a feeling of accomplishment & awesomeness. Because you ARE awesome and you DID it.

YES to this! I’ve started to have make a really prioritized list and also starting with some of the tougher things. Once I get through those and to more of the fun/easy tasks that I love it makes things so much easier. But at the end of the day I know there will always be a list for tomorrow!
It’s crazy how those days hit you. They usually hit me after having a wonderful day of motivation the prior day. But you’re so right…piece by piece. It all takes time and you just have to keep choosing to keep going!
Thank you so much for this. I’m currently sitting in my car on the verge of tears about how much I have to do…needed this so badly. You made it so much better. Perfect timing. ☺️
You hit it on the nose!! I often times feel so overwhelmed and just can’t do all of it. And then on that point I paralyze myself and don’t get anything done! You are right I just have to tackle it day by day. Task by task. Really need this post. You are fabulous.
