Happy Monday, friends!
Last week was a weird one… I didn’t have to go back to work until Thursday (yay!), but when I DID go back, I felt like Thursday was a Monday and Friday was a Tuesday. So, needless to say, I felt a little “off” all week!
Our weekend wasn’t busy in terms of going-and-doing, but it WAS busy in terms of to-do lists! Laundry (my LEAST favorite chore), bathroom cleaning (yuck), DSE video-chats, styled shoot planning, Powersheets and my SP took over my weekend…
Things I learned/what went down:
1. My devotion from last night (above) was so spot-on with how my heart was feeling. Don’t you love when that happens?
2. No matter how many times I watch Friends, I laugh every time!! Chandler just cracks me up!
3. I finished Mockingjay, the final Hunger Games book. OH MY GOSH y’all. My mind was blown. Like, seriously. If you haven’t read the series, please jump on the bandwagon… I was skeptical at first, but I’m an official fan.
4. After I finished it (Mockingjay), I was really depressed. Now, I’m not going to tell you what happened because you need to GO READ IT, but I want to tell you why my heart was so sad… It really could be real. See, I’ve always been a huge fan of the fantasy-series’ – you know, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Twilight, even the super-hero movies. I LOVE movies like that. But The Hunger Games series broke my heart because, that could totally be our world. Humans can REALLY be that cruel (hello, world wars & genocide). As I watched the movies & read the books, my heart broke for the brokenness of that world… as in, I CRIED, y’all. I pray Jesus comes back before our world really shows it’s true colors… the colors of a broken, disgusting, heart-hardened world.
5. Enough with the deep stuff 🙂 I also played around with pretty flowers this weekend. It did my heart good, and our kitchen is super cheery!
How was your weekend?? Are you ready to tackle the first full week of 2014?
xo! kat
