Dear Small Business Owner Filled With Self Doubt,
I totally get it. I know right where you are and I want to meet you there. I want to cry with you over half baked Ben & Jerry’s. I want to tell you that your fears are stupid and that your self doubt it ridiculous… because I feel it, too.
I’ve been battling this a lot lately, friends. So this letter is written for you as much as it is for me.
Last Sunday when I worked on that shoot, it was a breath of fresh air I desperately needed. I was feeling overwhelmed with self-doubt. As creatives, we feel a lot of self induced feelings, right? Self-doubt, self-pity, irrational fear. We want to people please & excel in our craft; but we ALL have fears that roar their ugly heads. There are aspects of our business that make us feel weak and inadequate. And there are dark moments when those doubts win.
For whatever reason, we allow ourselves to feel inadequate. Even for just a small minute, we allow ourselves to think that we aren’t enough. When in fact, we ARE.
I have such a special place in my heart for other creatives. I want you to feel encouraged & uplifted & I want you to know that you’re not in this alone. I think just knowing that there are other women out there who get it makes all the difference, right? I’ve been thinking and praying and processing a lot recently. I’m trying to make intentional decisions with the direction of DSE, and all of you play a huge role in that!! In the last few months, I’ve discovered that I have a such a passion for small business owners & building creatives up, not pushing them down. I love getting to know you. I love your emails & sweet insta’s. I love the sense of community God has brought into my life because of YOU.
So I want you to know that I get it. I’m right there with ya. We’re in this crazy ride of small business ownership together, and when you have those moments of self-doubt & irrational fears… have a cry, eat some ice cream, and remember that your self-doubt is just that: SELF-doubt. YOU own it. YOU control it. And I believe in your ability to tell it to get the heck outta here!!:)
Love you, sweet friends!
