May Monthly Faves: Stress Away, Rothys & Enneagram

Welcome to a new blog series!! I wanted to create a fun catch-all series that would allow me to share faves with you around mamahood, business, books & apparel! Monthly Faves will air every month with my Top 5 for the month, and this month it’s a fun five! 🙂 I’ve sharing my fave essential oils roller, what I’m listening to on Spotify, my go-to shoes, what I’m reading (and loving!) and a fun spotify playlist you can add to your work-day tunes!

My go-to essential oils roller:

I’m new to the Young Living family. I joined a few months ago under my sweet friend (and total boss lady) Amanda, and I’ve loved getting slowly acclimated with the world of essential oils!! I found out quickly that my favorite scent is Stress Away and it’s become my go-to roller! It smells AMAZING and it’s designed to do what the name states – relax, take it easy & keep the stress away. Perfect for mamahood & small biz life! 😉 I wear it almost daily like perfume; I roll it on my inner wrist & neck. To create the roller, I found gold topped rollers on Etsy & mixed YL’s Stress Away oil with fractionated coconut oil (this one is great since it’s a pump top!). Fill the roller approx. 70% full with fractionated coconut oil, then fill the rest with Stress Away. Shake up & voila!

My favorite shoes for wedding day (and every day!):

I’ve talked about Rothys enough on my instagram stories that they needed to make it on the first monthly fave blog post!! Over the past 2 years, Rothys have quickly become my favorite shoe for 12+ hour wedding days and, honestly, every day!! I reach for them more than any other pair in my closet.

I typically wear a 7.5 but size up to an 8 or even 8.5 in Rothy’s. (They have a great exchange policy, so you can conveniently determine the best size for you!) My feet are wide which is why the points aren’t as comfortable as the other styles. My favorite style are my loafers – the linen double stitch are perfect for spring/summer!! My loafers truly had no break in period either; they’re literally like slippers on my feet!

The best part of Rothy’s is they are machine washable. My linen color show dirt easily but I don’t worry about messing them up on wedding day! I’ve washed them a few times on cold, delicate (rubbing detergent on spots as needed) and they come out looking brand new. Win-win!

My fave on Spotify:

I’m definitely biased with this one since it’s something I create, but I had to mention it this month!!! Every month, Creative at Heart creates a monthly Spotify playlist! It’s such a fun “business to-do”; I listen to music almost daily & I love creating this for our brand! Emily and I love adding new song we’re loving to the list & then jamming out all month long. Matt, on the other hand, doesn’t always love the ones we pick, ha! 😉 If you like listening to Spotify throughout the work day, follow Creative at Heart to tune into each month’s playlist!

My go-to website templates:

My biz bestie, Megan Martin, launched her website templates last summer and y’all, they are amazing!! She designed the Creative at Heart website and it’s currently her 10x Coffee Template in her shop (such a fitting name for me, ha!) and a little bird told me that the blog you’re currently on will also be a template in her new line coming soon! 😉 Her designs are bright, bold and built to convert. She focuses on optimizing your copy and honing in on exactly what every single page of your site should be doing / who it should be speaking to! She’s a genius when it comes to bringing my web vision to life and her templates are perfect for those of you looking to refresh your website on a platform that’s design friendly (especially for those of you not tech-savvy like me!).

What I’m reading:

My word for 2019 is “fulfilled” and part of my journey through that this year has been to focus on becoming more self-aware. I want to be fulfilled in who I am – in who God created me to be – and not spend my time comparing myself to others & feeling discontent with what I have & the gifts He’s clearly given me.

On my journey to self-awareness, I’ve started diving further into personality tests. I created a creative personality test with Creative at Heart, and have read more into Enneagram & StrengthsFinder, too! I just finished reading The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile and had to highlight it this month as a fave!! If you’re new to Enneagram or curious about Enneagram, this book is a great place to start!!

I’ll admit, I do have mixed feelings about Enneagram. In a nutshell, it’s not my favorite personality philosophy because I do think it weighs too heavily on the negative; but this book was eye-opening & insightful both on my own Enneagram type (3w2) and on learning more about others!!
