If you haven’t been to Creative at Heart, then you might not understand my use of the phrase “hard work and fairy dust”!
Hard Work and Fairy Dust is the title of my talk at Creative at Heart. I remember brainstorming titles and sending this one over to Bonnie, Laura and Taylor. They immediacy loved it & #hardworkandfairydust has been around ever since!! Here’s a bit more about the meaning of it all:
Superwoman: the woman who makes her dreams a reality… the woman who conquers it all … she balances her day-job, her successful business, her marriage, her children, her personal life & her household to-dos, all while wearing hot pink heels & never breaking a sweat. Sounds fabulous, right? But what about reality? We like to tell ourselves that the women who “make it” are women just like that… but, friends, that’s not the case. Making dreams a reality doesn’t look picture perfect and it doesn’t happen overnight, but it CAN happen!! I’m sharing my personal story with you about building a business while working full-time, about conquering big fears & overcoming “I don’t think so’s” and “I’m not worth it’s”. We’ll talk about hard work, dedication … and a sprinkle of fairy dust when the going gets tough.
#hardworkandfairydust is something EVERY big dreamer and boss lady needs a bit more of, so when I realized I could create a custom sweatshirt by Bow & Drape with this lovely mantra on it, I HAD to get one!! Not only is it adorable, but it’s a wonderful reminder to anyone I come near!!:) Since I published this post, I’ve received more and more questions about this custom shirt, so I thought I’d share more details today! (Big thanks to the amazing Alicia Lacey Photography for taking these pictures for me!!)
Ever since I launched DSE, I have tried to support more unique small businesses, and Bow & Drape is one of them! Bow & Drape is based in the US and I love their instagram. They have the BEST sense of humor (it’s always nice to support a company you think is just FUN, right?!)!
They specialize in all things CUSTOM so there’s not a crazy fee for wanting to make a shirt your own!! I opted for The Classic Sweatshirt in Black French Terry with Gold Sequin 2″ letters (here’s an example of the shirt, not the color!) I also added two cute gold hearts (one after the saying & one on the back corner) and I’m so glad I did!
Bonnie has this one & I’m obsessed with that cute saying (it might just be my next one!)!
My sweatshirt is VERY comfortable (I purchased a size medium because I wanted it to be more on the comfy side and not overly tight). It’s super soft & fits the “comfy sweatshirt” description to a t! It’s perfect for traveling while also being cute, and even though I’m only 5’2″ and frequently purchase long sleeve shirts with too-long-a-sleeve, I don’t have a problem with this one! My only complaint is that after the first washing, one of my sequin edges came off of one of the hearts. (Now, in their defense, we have a horrible washer in our rental so it might not be a quality issue; I’m chalking it up to my horrid washer!)
All in all, I highly recommend these adorable sweatshirts! Whether it’s purchasing a witty saying they already have available or customizing one to match your business or brand, it’s the perfect “just because” gift:) What are you waiting for?!
