Today is my dad’s birthday & tomorrow is my mom’s, so we spent the weekend celebrating with them! They didn’t want to do anything “big”… so we relaxed at the house with a bushel of crabs & quite a few rounds of corn hole. It was so much fun & I’m so glad we were able to relax with them!!

I also have an update on Daddy’s Great Pumpkin:) He has been working SO hard getting them ready for the fair!! The VA State Fair is the last weekend of this month, and the PA Fair is the first weekend of October. Fingers AND toes crossed these pumpkins do okay until then!!

Here’s a picture of the whole set-up… he has his own irrigation system & shade cloths over every pumpkin. He also keeps a sheet over them… my mom keeps loosing sheets from the closet:) We joked that we were lucky we had them on our beds!! You have to keep them as cool as you can & protect them from the sun, so that’s why he uses shade cloths & sheets… AND individual fans by the stem of each pumpkin.

2 of them are white pumpkins… they each weigh around 900. The orange one is the biggest; it just broke 1,000 lbs.!!!!

AND he has the largest gourds I have EVER seen!!! They look like green snakes!!! You can see him pointing at the tallest one… !!!

Can’t wait to see what everything looks like in a few weeks!!:)
