Weekend Wrap-Up: !!!

Today’s Weekend Wrap-Up title just gets a TON of exclamation points… it was THAT good, y’all.

Back in August I reached out to the amazing Annamarie Akins Photography about her blog & branding. I was in the (very) early stages of getting this blog up & running, and I knew she had been in the business a little over a year & I felt like I really connected with her through her blogging… so I reached out to her with a few questions. We became fast friends & it was such a blessing!!! I told her I had a styled shoot in my head, but wasn’t sure if I could pull it off… she immediately told me she was all-in and we HAD to go for it. Talk about having faith in me!!!

It all started with a vision, a holiday-romance theme I wanted to make a reality. And let me tell you something: as much as I wanted to do it, I had this fear I couldn’t do it. Ugh. I hate fear. SO MUCH. We live in a world of comparison and I found myself looking at other shoots, at other designers, and saying “She does it better” or “I can’t do it, she can”. I found myself second-guessing my own vision & my own inspiration. Well, that’s a LIE. And seeing it all come together on Sunday, did my heart good.

This was my very first styled shoot… the very first thing (besides my own wedding) I was truly able to design from the ground-up, coordinate & MAKE HAPPEN.

And now I’m hooked. I’m IN LOVE with styling shoots and SO GLAD this is my job (insert a TON of exclamation points) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m humbled that amazing women like her and her and her BELIEVED in my vision enough to spend their Sunday making it happen. I’m blessed that my husband & parents did manual labor hauling furniture into the middle of a wet field, that my mom let me boss her around as she moved décor pieces around the shoot (love you, mama!!), and that my husband never once complained about my late nights crafted instead of spending time with him, and 100% supported me along the way. BLESSED y’all. Abundantly blessed. Heart full. So happy.
