That time I almost quit blogging…

What a crazy, crazy month.

It’s funny because at the beginning of November, I pictured this month being a whole lot easier than previous months. August-October had been go-go-go, so in my mind November was going to be a bit quieter and not as chaotic.

Boy, was I wrong.

November held my last wedding of the year, an incredible styled shoot with dreamy vendors, a 4-day stomach flu, a 2-week sinus-headcold-gross-thing, the third Creative at Heart Conference, DSE Christmas minis for my 2015 clients, crazy website updates on the new site (all the heart eyes), and a lot of BIG heart decisions toward the future of DSE.

Woah.

No wonder I almost quit blogging.

I haven’t blogged since November 2nd (my longest quiet stretch in 2 years). I took a breather because (a) there was so much to say and just not enough words and (b) there was so little time to form the words. I thought about closing up the blog for a few months. I was tired. Really tired. And I didn’t know if I would ever have the energy to do it again.

Sometimes I think we need to hit that rock-bottom-can-I-ever-get-back-up feeling to actually GET BACK UP again.

I know it sounds silly. I mean, it’s JUST blogging. But I’ve always loved this place. This happy home on the web I get to call my own. I get to write and pretend people read it:) I get to share an online journey of our #schmoadventures, show off my stunning clients, connect with creatives all over the world & pour my heart out between the lines.

When I sat down and thought about it, I realized that I really, really love it here. And I don’t want to give it up. I don’t want to quit.

This past Creative at Heart Conference did a lot for my heart, and drastically effected how I’m viewing my growing businesses and my unsettled heart. I learned about my priorities. I was challenged to pursue my ideal client, felt empowered to step boldly into the niche I think I belong in, and encouraged to step up & step out as conference director.

I’m excited.

I really, really am. I’m encouraged and fueled to end 2015 with a bittersweet farewell & a big ‘hi, ya friend’ to 2016.

Change is brewing. Big, beautiful, awesome change. And I’m excited you stuck around through my mini blogging hiatus.

I’m back. And I’ve got so much to share:)

Keep bookmarking DSE, friends. I’m humbled you do. I’ve got a whole season’s worth of INCREDIBLE weddings to share, a few editorial shoots, an awesome free resource and so much more…all coming soon:)

And because Amanda Hedgepeth makes me feel so stinkin’ cool with my C@H earpiece & name tag by Littlest Paperie, here’s a day-two-of-the-conference-calls-for-a-top-knot-because-I-may-be-asleep-on-my-feet-with-an-overflowing-heart picture!!! (Round 3 attendees, I can’t wait to share your head shots with you! Y’all are a bunch of babes.)
