Running a business can feel like a sprint. And when you’re leading a team (or dreaming of one), it’s easy to stay stuck in reactive mode. That’s why I flew my leadership team to Texas…not just for the tacos and the team bonding (though both were amazing), but to intentionally pause, realign, and lead with clarity.
Here’s a peek inside our KSA Leadership Team Retreat and how you can plan your own version, no matter what season of business you’re in.
Why I Host Leadership Retreats
The heart of this retreat was stewardship…stewarding my role as CEO, stewarding the team culture, and stewarding the mission of our agency.
We weren’t there to fill time — we were there to fill vision!
- In-person connection
- Strategic clarity
- Shared ownership of our direction
What We Did (and Why It Mattered)
From StrengthsFinder deep dives to a full client audit, we focused on both personal growth and strategic planning!
Here’s what our retreat covered:
- What’s Working / What’s Not: We opened with honest reflection (not just professionally, but personally, too.)!
- Client Audit: We reviewed every inquiry, conversion rate, source, retention stat, and more. Spoiler: some of our favorite clients had patterns we want to repeat
- StrengthsFinder: We re-evaluated our top strengths and how we complement each other on the team.
- Q4 & 2026 Planning: No pressure to finalize it all — just space to cast vision and build momentum.
- 1:1 Check-Ins: Dedicated time for individual feedback and leadership coaching.
We capped it all off with attending the Share the Arrows Conference — a faith-filled, purpose-driven experience that brought everything full circle.
My Biggest Takeaways as CEO
- I don’t need all the answers — I need to create space for the right conversations.
Leadership isn’t about control. It’s about trust and intentionality. - Clarity doesn’t come from hustle — it comes from pause.
Every time I step away to reflect, I come back with more direction. - Your team culture starts with YOU.
From spiritual encouragement to strategic clarity, my role is to set the tone.
Don’t Have a Team? You Can Still Do This.
If you’re a solopreneur, you don’t need to fly across the country to get this kind of clarity. Here are 3 ways to create your own mini retreat:
- Plan a CEO Day off-site — Even 3 hours at a coffee shop with your notebook can create space for breakthroughs.
- Schedule Quarterly Audits — Set recurring dates to reflect on what’s working (and what’s not) in your business.
- Create a Stop-Doing List — Delegate, pause, or restructure anything that’s draining your energy.
You are the visionary. That means you are also the leader your brand needs — even if you’re the only one in the room right now.
You’ve got this.
