You don’t need to have a huge portfolio before starting your business.
You don’t need to have a 4 page resume before booking your ideal client.
You don’t need to have a degree in your field to be confident in what you do.
And you definitely don’t need to have it all figured out.
When I started Dear Sweetheart Events, I had ZERO experience and ZERO portfolio images. Yep, that’s right. Nada, zip, zero. To be honest, I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was doing… but I knew I had to try.
Starting a wedding planning business has been the most challenging & fulfilling thing I have ever done. But it’s also been lonely… really lonely. There have been times in my business where I felt like I had no one to turn to, no one to rely on & no one to confide in. Those feelings of loneliness were some of the lowest points in my business, and I made it my mission to help other creatives overcome those feelings & find community right where they are.
