Ugh. Talk about a gross Monday. It’s pouring down rain & freezing cold… and, it’s a Monday. All of that combined makes me want to be in bed in comfy sweats with a good book & a cup of coffee. Amen? Amen.

This past weekend was MUCH needed. Matt and I didn’t have any definite plans on Friday night or all day Saturday… it was wonderful! I’ve found that personally, I need to make sure I have one weekend a month like that… a Saturday to just tackle my to-do list & do things around the house. And, it’s obviously really great for our marriage, too! We watched 2 Harry Potter movies, made sugar cookies, did laundry, cleaned the bathrooms, and the just got things done. I went to bed Saturday feeling incredibly accomplished… tired, but accomplished. And I love that feeling.

Since it’s the first blogging day of February, I thought I’d recap my January goals & tell you what I’m hoping to do in February. Here we go…

In case you forgot, for every month in 2014 I’m going to post my 5 personal goals for the month. (I chose five because it’s not too much to be overwhelming, not too little to not be enough of a challenge; and I just like odd numbers. Yes, I know that’s weird.)

JANUARY GOALS & A QUICK RECAP

  1. Start training for the 10K in March. As in, go run 3-4 days a week … HA! I really, really need to get on this. Oops!
  2. Read Seven … I didn’t finish it, but I’ve started. It’s really, really good! I’ll be sharing more during this weeks #contentmentchallenge post.
  3. Clear the clutter in our basement. It’s like a vortex that sucks every random thing into it … YAY we did this!!! We took a TON of stuff to Goodwill and Matt’s going to build me a few shelves over his spring break. I can’t wait!
  4. Finish filling out my Powersheets. Preferably this weekend … Yes & No. I didn’t get them done enough in January… so I’m making Feb my “month one”; I think I needed the first month to really process through it, so I’m okay with “officially” starting in Feb.
  5. Listen to worship music on my Pandora, instead of my Lady A or Colbie Caillat stations. Not that those are bad stations, but filling my head with Jesus is way better … Yes. I’ve been mixing up my Pandora stations & loving it 🙂

FEBRUARY GOALS

  1. START training for the 10K. I’m serious, Kat. That race is going to kill you if you don’t start running.
  2. Finish Seven. (Do you see a pattern in my goals?! Ha. I promise I am adding a few new ones, too!)
  3. Have a Social Media Free weekend. (I was supposed to do this once a month in ’14, but I completely forgot last month… oops!)
  4. Clean out my closet. I have a closet FULL of clothes, yet I tend to wear the same things over & over. I need to wear other options, and clear out the stuff I’m just hoarding.
  5. Cook more. Matt does the majority of the cooking, but now that he’s started a full-time job we’re BOTH going to come home tired & hungry!! I need to pull my weight & not expect him to always make dinner so I can do things for DSE. I’m a wife first, then a business owner.

Do you have February Goals? I’d love to hear them!!

(And, because I’m just so stinkin’ excited to see the rest of these pics… here’ a sneak peak from my session with Bulloss Photography… I got to hang out with Jess & Will yesterday while she worked her magic behind the lens on a few of my floral arrangements. On a dreary day like today, this picture reminds me that spring is right around the corner!)

Love it, girl! Goal number 5 is defiantly a big one for me also!

  2. Katie says:

Start instagramming about running…haha that will make you go do it! At least, it helps me to say on FB or Instagram I’m going running, or to post my progress. Because then I feel like a jerk if I don’t do it…:) You could also try wearing a heart rate monitor when you run (if you dont already). Knowing I will burn x amount of calories sometimes motivates me. When all else fails, just get out there and do it! You’ll never regret doing a workout! You only regret not doing them:)

those head shots look so beautiful! and yes! so full of spring! i’m so ready for this cold weather to hit the road. i need more sunshine in my life! haha. i like your idea of doing a social-media-free weekend. i definitely need to try that! one goal that i actually accomplished last month was cleaning my room. big deal for me! now i’d like to clean my car! then my life might actually feel more at peace and less hectic! haha. chris tomlin is a great pandora station, by the way! so good! and jimmy needham!
