2/3 of the way through. CRAZY. It seems like just yesterday we started on this journey, and here we are almost done.
I’ll be honest with you; I’ve had more than my fair share of mess-ups while going through this process. And although part of me is disappointed that I slipped-up, the other part of me is really, really grateful. Why? Well, because I learned it’s not about me. It’s never about me. It doesn’t matter if I mess up, or how MANY TIMES I mess up! God is constantly restoring my life. He’s the only perfect one.
This month is a hard one for me. There’s A LOT going on and there is SO MUCH temptation to buy & buy & buy.
-I really want something cute for Making Things Happen, even though the ENTIRE conference has nothing to do with my outer appearance & everything to do with my heart.
-My birthday is this month, so I caught myself thinking “oh what do I want for my birthday?!”. And while that’s not a bad thing to think, I don’t want to get caught thinking about what I WANT vs. what I need… which in the “need” category there’s pretty much nothing, ha.
-And I’m rebranding which means new headshots … AKA temptation to buy a whole new wardrobe.
Ugh. Do you see my first world problems here? So, this month I’m going to try even HARD to stay on target… or OUT of Target:)

THE CONTENTMENT CHALLENGE: MARCH
Memory Verse: Psalm 16:8 (shown above)
Theme: Security – Security that I am a new creation in Christ. No amount of STUFF I have will change that, will make me better or more worthy of that gift. I don’t NEED a new outfit, for any reason. I don’t NEED birthday presents based on selfish want. I NEED Jesus. That’s IT. If I lost EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION, I would still have security in Christ alone. Amen? Amen.
Challenge: Give back. Hopefully by this point in the challenge, you’ve saved a pretty penny of what you normally spend. I want you to let it go. I want you to find a good cause, organization, charity, etc. and give it to them. Matt and I have a child through World Vision & I love knowing that we’re giving to a child in need. I love getting cards from our girl, hearing how she’s doing & what she’s learning. It really is rewarding for our spirit to give financially to this little girl. I really, REALLY encourage you to do something similar: INVEST in a child’s life. INVEST in an organization that could use some financial help.
……..
I can tell you right now that I don’t think this challenge will be over for me on March 31. So these next few weeks I’m going to be praying about what to do NEXT. Right now, I feel like I still have a ways to go, and I want to keep walking through it. I want you to pray about it, too. Do you feel God’s call to keep going down the Contentment Challenge road? Or maybe you’re new around here & you’re just now feeling the pull to join? Pray about it. I can’t wait to hear what you decide to do:)
