My “Reigning Kats & Dogs” Baby Shower

I feel like the past few weeks have been a bit surreal! We celebrated our babymoon in Hawaii, Matt’s 28th birthday, our beautiful baby shower & now today is my 29th birthday!! So many amazing blessings!!! I was planning to blog about our babymoon today, but when Hope sent over the pictures from my baby shower I knew I couldn’t wait any longer to share them!! I’ll just have to blog about our babymoon next week!;)

I honestly can’t believe THIS beautiful shower was designed for ME! What?! I’m still basking in shower glow and feel like it was the most perfect way to celebrate this sweet baby boy!! My mama teamed up with my good friend Emily C from college and my friend & amazing assistant Emily Y (so many Emily’s in my life!) and the three of them really did make a dream team!! I knew they were planning to incorporate a dog-theme since they all knew my nursery inspiration included pops of puppy accents. What I didn’t realize was just how AMAZING the theme would be!!!

“Reigning Kats & Dogs” was PERFECT!! It was such a fun pairing of my girly ways (hello crowns & beautiful blooms!), while also loving on our BOY with all the navy & dog details!! They truly went above and beyond with every detail to make it unique and oh so special! Mom & Emily C handled all the food, while Emily Y went crafty with all the details (she handmade every crown, y’all!!). I love how all the paper details had puppy-puns like “Chow down” and “Pup Cakes”, the girls thought of favors both for the women who attended AND their fury friends, and even the napkin holder matched the theme with the crown!  They also teamed up with a few amazing vendors and I’m so grateful for each & every person who contributed!!! Amanda of Sorby Sweets made the cake, cupcakes & cake-pops (which were all so delicious!!), Courtney Inghram designed the flowers & my flower crown, Bazzle’s Bakery made the cookie favors (shaped like bones!), and Jessica of Simply Jessica Marie created all the paper goods and the custom painting of our pup, Knox (which now hangs in the nursery – yay!)!

Katelyn & Michael opened up their home to host 30+ women and babies, and I’m so grateful for how much of an encouragement they are to me and Matt! I love that all the husband’s could go enjoy March Madness while the girls stayed to talk all things baby & celebrate Baby Schmo!! Words can’t express how humbled I am by everyone who came; so much love & support in one room!!! (And to all of you who sent a gift & sweet text from afar, I’m so grateful for you, too!!!)

Hope captured the day perfectly and I’m excited to share my favorite images!! I have a lot & I’m not even going to apologize for it! This boy has no idea how much love is waiting for him … and while he may not care about the pretty blue details, I sure do & will never, ever forget how special his baby shower was!!!!!

SO grateful for these three!!!!

She’s gonna be the best Mamaw!:)

And I love this pic of me, mama and my soon-to-be-SIL!! Can’t wait for her bridal shower next month!!

So many fun gifts … he’s going to be very well dressed and have so many fun toys!!!

Amanda’s daughter, Cammy, made me an adorable card!!!

My friend Emily C made this blanket for his nursery & I had to fight from completely sobbing when I saw it!! While I love the store-bought gifts (and understand how much of a necessity they are!!), there is something SO special about handmade gifts!!! I don’t have a picture of it, but my mama had a blanket made for him, too, and it reminds me of the one I had growing up … I LOVED my blanket when I was a kid & now he gets one, too!!! I can’t wait to see him using both of these special keepsakes!!!

And let’s talk about how cute these puppy baskets are from Emily Y?!? She and her mom even picked him up 2 adorable onesies from Magnolia Market!!!!

Shep was such a good helper! 🙂

This elephant stole the show … it plays “peek-a-boo” haha!

Opening up my custom portrait of Knox by Jessica!! Funny story: around the time Emily reached out to her about shower details, I reached out to her about a portrait of Knox!! I had NO idea I would open it now… I thought I’d get it in late April!! Such a fun surprise!!!!

We ended the day with a heartfelt, emotional prayer led by Katelyn. It was by far my favorite moment of the entire day.

And here are a few iPhone pics with sweet friends throughout the day!!
